A Polka-Dot Reunion.

Its been a little over a week since my last post! Im very sorry about this! Last week was extremely fun for me, just because the feeling of summer was in the air and I got back to a few summer habits with my friends :)! I was going to take pictures last weekend as well, but I got all ready and my Mum had taken the camera with her when she went to see the Red Sox game unfortunately.

Anyways, this dress is for my Bermuda cruise this summer but I really wanted to blog it! I love polka dots and the strapless design. The hat I thought looked adorable with it and the necklace is vintage. The shoes are from my Gramsy <333.>

Thank you as always for all of your lovely comments and the new followers, everyone here is so kind :)

Sorry I haven't posted as frequently as I used to, I've had to go to my sister's softball games and do homework, which doesn't leave much time for blogging sadly. I'm pretty loaded with homework tonight, but I managed to squeeze in some time for photos. I love this thrifted vintage bolero! My mom has some older ones from back in her day ;) ! I tried to make it look a bit more young with the oversized white tee and accessories. Overall, I quite like the effect. Lately my looks have been more edgy, no clue as to why, but oh well :). I've been looking at an issue of Glamour magazine and I saw this sweater with holes in it, and fell in love! I've ripped it out and am taking pictures of it tomorrow! Can't wait to show you my latest bit of inspiration. I've also had some of my artwork in the town's art show and got to give tours to elementary level kids. I will have pictures of those peices up soon, hopefully tomorrow, as well.
Thanks for being patient with me and for commenting and following as always :)

Amelia...

"Dreaming of Beaches"

Well, for the title of the post, I felt like Amelia Earheart (second picture), looking all adventurous with my billowy scarf. It was actually pretty chilly out today, so for pictures, I wanted something warmer. In turn, I created this ensemble. I love the layering of my sheer maroon blouse with my roomy thrifted plaid sweater. The shoes are from my mom's friend at work, Mary (Thank you!), who bought them off line! I love the wedge design!!! I had to wear them with socks though, due to the cooler temperatures. Reguardless, I'm pretty happy with the over all look!!!
Going to my friend Andie's house to watch some scary movies now, so I bid you all farwell!
Thanks as always for reading my blog!

Reinvention!

Well, today I stumbled upon a bag of summery dresses my mom was going to donate, however, I decided to snatch them up and try to youthen the frocks up. The dress I initially chose to wear was extremely long on my short frame (seen in photo 2), so I cliped up the side with a rouched flower pin and gave it this sort of grecian drape effect. I'm in love with reinventing different garments (without sewing, for I'm horendous at it, but plan to take lessons this summer) and accessorizing to change the whole vibe of an outfit. This then , as you can see, was an extremely fun challenge for me! Plan on seeing some more of these dresses tomorrow, or in the near future!
Thanks for reading and commenting! Everyone in the fashion community is so great!
P.S.- Sorry I couldn't get photos up Yesterday, I took some and accidentally deleted them all and by the time I figured out they were gone, I had to do my homework :/....Don't you love evil technology???

Elemental Mixture

Sorry, I haven't gotten to posting in a while, the end of the year school year always swamps you with the most to do.I have m sister's first softball game to go to in a bit, so I seriously need to do my homework. Anyways, this was a quick outfit, a mixture of many elements that cohese into one ensemble. I've always been a fan of a multitude of fabrics and peices, leather, with lace, studs with pinstripes. The style suits me in a way, since I can be a mass of contradictions...I love the giant bow on this shirt! I am an undeniable bow fanatic, probably because I tend to gravitate towards more girly peices.

Sorry!!!

Hey everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been able to post all week, I have had an English Essay/Project due and have had no time and I'm completely exhausted. I've come this close to Friday, though! Can't wait for the weekend at my friend's lake house!!!
Oh, and this "Lace and Satin Jacket" has made it's debut in Forever 21 stores for the Mother's day collection! The bold shoulders are so amazing, so sorry Mom, I love you, but I'd be keeping this baby for myself (Not really your style anyway :)!

My Love of A Feminine Skirt...

Lately, I've been wearing all of my voluminous skirts from Forever 21. This one, which came with the belt, is so feminine, yet it has an edge because of the black and red plaid print. I'm in love with the lace overlay as well, it adds a layer, which I am always for. The blouse is thrifted and my sister actually wore it as part of her Pirate Halloween costume, but I guess in a way I reinvented it in this ensemble and in my wardrobe. The collar ruffle detail is stunning, and extremely me! (Sorry for the lousy hair today, it's a weekend so I, and my hair, needed a break).
Working on the blog layout right now. It might keep changing around a bit, but I hope you all like it!
Not much to say today, have to work on my poetry project on Maya Angelou, wish me luck :)
Thanks as always for all of the lovely comments!

Flying Purple People Eater...

Wow, I wore a ton of purple, but oh well I guess it's the color of my day. It was extremely windy out today, so I piled on the layers! I really like my necklace today, it's from the Goodwill and its gold! I think gold is the best for any jewelery. It's bold and looks more classic and antiquey (Ok, I know that's not a word but you get the point)! The skirt is polka-dotted and so young, perfect for a 14 year old like me! Of course I raided my mom's closet again. Have you ever noticed that someone elses clothes look so much more appealing than your own? That happens to me way to much. I promised myself that for the next few posts the clothes I wear are going to be strictly from my closet. This isn't my favorite outfit looking back at the photos, but I might as well post it.
Quick story! The song from the title of my post is one from my dance recital back when I actually took lessons. I know realize how uncoordinated I am....anyways I also danced to a song called "Clean Your Room Blues" in the next number I did with my class. The cowgirl skirt I wore as my costume was a little loose on me and my mom asked if I should pin it, but of course naive as I am I refuted her suggestion. Well that day will go down as the most embarrassing moment of my life thus far....I went on stage, and my skirt fell down!
Thanks to everyone following and commenting on my blog and on my chictopia! :)

Loving how the khakis turned out with this. It kinda looks effortlessly chic or something. Not usually into pants but what the heck?!?!?!?!?? I was on vacation with my cousin and I was dying for a leather vest and Voila! My aunt took my literally EVERYWHERE until we found this one and I am extremely thankful! The hat is also from my trip to NYC last year with my drama club. My bff and I got fedoras and walked around like little girls would thinking they look so "cool"! Haha! The purse was only about $5 at Icing! It's always so afordable there and the accessories are radically versatile!

Not much else to say...anyways thanks to everyone as always!

Print Play!!!

Quick Post Alert! I decided to play with a few very different prints with common cohesive colors. I quite like how it turned out as a matter of fact. I threw on my dads work shirt under my Thrifted Ralph Lauren Child's Size Dress which I got for Easter after I picked it out a few weeks prior. The scarf was picked up at the local thrift store for our school play "Aladdin". It has officially been added to my closet! The shoes, also thrifted, are Calico and I am in love with the gold accents and bold color! Chic and simplistic.
I have been in love with nautical colors lately. Navy and Red are just soul mates! I really want a Red and Navy fitted striped blazer-keeping my eyes out next time I actually have money to spend...
Thanks to all who come across and read my blog!Love!

Scully's Exploration

For chictopia, I did a "The Chic And The Fuzzy" contest entry, starring my princess Scully (yah, I know, he is a guy princess)! I thought I might as well post it on my blog as well. It was his first time that he was actually allowed to come outside, and he was a complete and utter scaredy cat (pun intended)! I love my baby nonetheless! I matched my outfit to go with the sort of vibe I was looking for to portray Scully's personality! Because he is pampered and spoiled, I wore this completely feminine, self-indulgent dress with an over-sized sweater to tone it down a bit. The sweater gives it a cozy feel, which reminded me of cuddling with my baby. Our story and entry is on my chictopia! Feel free to comment!
I got the necklace from a garage sale when I went out to stay with my Grandma and Aunt for a week last summer. The elderly lady from whom I purchased it must be one chic woman, because all of her jewels were incredibly classy!
